Two clocks in one special instrument with timeless appeal. This light, strong and durable 24-hour radio room quartz clock incorporates the dial of a radio room clock with a 24-hour clock movement. Introduced in the early 1900’s, in part, as a result of the tragic sinking of the Titanic, which had difficulty contacting nearby ships for rescue help because its distress call system was ineffective. This clock displays two three-minute fan lines in red and two in green. The colored markings represent designated silence periods when only emergency radio messages were to be transmitted and received. The 24-hour clock display divides the day into 24 hour increments, indicating the hours from 0 (midnight) to 23, which is also known as military time. It features a traditional front opening porthole case housing an accurate quartz movement.
